Lots and lots has been happening here at the DigitalWire360 office in Arizona (on top of everything else going on in the world of advertising) so we decided to take a breath and recap our thoughts on some big topics!
1. Dove’s Real Beauty Bottles
First off, all of us here at DW360 respect everyone, no matter your background or what you do, which is why we absolutely love this Dove campaign! Not often do you see such impactful brand messaging, and moreover, such obvious synergy. Personally, I think this is Dove recognizing how many people (of various shapes and sizes) use their product, and furthermore, connecting with real consumers on a personal level. Kudos Dove!
2. Sunny Co’s Swimsuit Debacle
Let’s put it this way – if you’re going to run a competition on social media for your brand, double check the details… PLEASE! If you haven’t thought about worst case scenarios, then it’s time you did, because backlash can break your brand just as much as positivity can build it. If you never saw a red bathing suit one piece on your Instagram timeline a couple weeks ago, consider yourself lucky, because collectively, DW360 saw thousands. 3. All Things Snapchat
At DigitalWire360 we LOVE Snapchat (add us @DigitalWire360) so it’s exciting to hear that Snapchat will be releasing self-serve ads for all brands this June! This a major game changer for the app as it might drive brands to allocate more of their budget to snapchat and not Facebook or Twitter. Not only did they release a major update for advertisers, they also released an augmented reality feature for users. Kudos Snapchat!
